National Attachments at ConExpo-Con/AGG 2026 : CEG

For almost four decades, National Attachments has carved out a distinctive place in the attachments industry by focusing on a component that often determines success or failure on the job site.

Founded in 1989, the Gorham, Maine–based company is celebrating more than 36 years in business, a milestone that reflects both longevity and deep institutional knowledge, according to President Scott Guimond.

“We’re a complete resource across a wide range of industries that depend on construction equipment,” Guimond said. “Forestry, agriculture, construction, scrap, recycling, demolition, gas pipeline, municipal, heavy highway and more — if construction equipment is involved, we provide the tools that allow that carrier to do its job efficiently.”

Guimond often explains the company’s role in practical terms.

“The machine is the carrier,” he said. “We provide the tape measure, the hammer, the drill — the tools that actually get the work done.”

Rather than focusing on a single product category, National Attachments represents a carefully selected group of premium attachment manufacturers from around the world, emphasizing durability, engineering and application-specific performance. Among the cornerstone brands is NYE Manufacturing, a Canadian company with nearly 70 years of history. National Attachments has partnered with NYE for three decades, distributing its demolition, forestry, recycling, construction and specialty tools throughout the United States and internationally.

Additional partners include OMEF, known for vegetation management tools capable of handling everything from grass to large trees; Powerhand of the United Kingdom, a specialist in forestry applications; and Pladdet Rotating Grapples of the Netherlands, along with several other niche international manufacturers, and many USA-based manufacturers.

While the company serves many markets, NYE remains central to National Attachments’ identity.

“When people think of National Attachments, NYE forestry, demolition and recycling tools are usually what they associate us with,” Guimond said. “That’s been core to who we are.”

National Attachments and NYE are widely known for severe-duty wood recycling and demolition attachments, including stump harvesters/ wood shears, grapples and pulverizers designed for extreme daily use. The companies also helped advance wood shear and pulverizer technology, applying sophisticated engineering to maximize output from limited hydraulic power.

“You’re always working with a fixed amount of hydraulic horsepower,” Guimond said. “The challenge is how efficiently you use it.”

That philosophy underpins the company’s newest push: the NYE Terminator self-contained wood shear for excavators where thumbs do not need to be removed from the excavator. A tree-length and stump-management shear that National Attachments will spotlight at ConExpo-Con/AGG 2026.

The Terminator represents seven generations of engineering refinement and more than 30 years of development. Drawing on NYE’s demolition and forestry experience, the tool uses geometries to extract maximum performance from an excavator’s hydraulic system. Many units have already shipped across the United States and beyond.

National Attachments’ booth will be staffed by company personnel providing details info on the products shown.

“There isn’t much we haven’t seen,” he said. “We know how to guide customers toward solutions that work — and away from costly mistakes.”
