RESTON, Va. – Cabinet manufacturers reported overall sales were down slightly, 0.7% in December 2025 compared to the same month the year prior, with two of the three segments reporting year-over-year losses for the month, according to the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association’s December Trend of Business report.
The 51 responding companies in the survey reported overall sales of $159.434 million for December 2025. In the year-over-year comparison for December, custom sales were up 7.1% to $46.785 million, while semi-custom dropped 1.9% to $87.816 million and stock sales fell 9.5%, to $24.833 million. Respondents reported a cabinet quantity for the month of 407,075, down 8.7% compared to December 2024 figures.
For the month-over-month sales comparison, survey respondents reported decreases in all three segments. Custom sales dropped 5.3%, semi-custom fell 3.2%, and stock sales declined 6.6% in December compared to November figures. Cabinet quantity dropped 3.1% during the time period.
For the year-to-date, year-over-year comparison both cabinet quantity and sales were down. Participants’ sales through December 2025 were $2.275 billion, down 6.5% from 2024 figures. Custom sales dropped 4.4%, semi-custom were down 5.7% and stock declined 12.4%. Cabinet quantity for the year also decreased, down 13.2% to 5.911 million, according to survey participants.
For the overall cabinet market, estimated sales for December were $1.5 billion and estimated sales for the year were $22.215 billion. Cabinet quantity for the overall market was 3.9 million for the month and 60.7 million for the entire year.
The Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA) represents kitchen cabinet and bath vanity manufacturers and key suppliers of goods and services to the industry. KCMA has been compiling and reporting industry sales data for more than 40 years.
