The certification process began in August 2024 when Caitlyn Correia succeeded her father, Paul Hanlon, as CEO, officially making Continental Woodcraft a women-owned company.
Since assuming leadership, Correia has focused on long-term growth across all facets of the business—from workforce development and operational efficiency to strengthening general contractor relationships and maintaining the high standards of quality, service, and craftsmanship for which Continental is known.
“This certification represents much more than a designation. It’s a meaningful milestone that reflects the hard work, dedication, and excellence of our entire team,” said Correia. “While it’s a personal achievement I’m incredibly proud of, it is truly a company-wide accomplishment.”
For general contractors, partnering with a WBE-certified firm like Continental Woodcraft offers a competitive advantage on both public and private projects, supporting supplier diversity requirements while maintaining access to an established millwork manufacturer with the scale, technical expertise, and production capacity to deliver complex projects on schedule.
Beyond compliance, the certification reflects Continental’s ongoing investment in an inclusive, forward-thinking workplace culture that prioritizes leadership development, innovation, and operational excellence. This commitment supports employee retention, attracts skilled talent, and ensures continuity in leadership and craftsmanship.
Equipped with advanced CNC, milling, and finishing technology—alongside time-tested woodworking techniques—Continental Woodcraft delivers custom architectural millwork throughout New England and New York. The company’s portfolio spans libraries, town halls, banks, hospitals, and higher education institutions, with project values ranging from $50,000 to $3 million. Notable projects include 220 Central Park South in New York City, as well as Assumption College and New York University.
“This certification is really a reflection of the dedication, heart, and leadership behind Continental Woodcraft,” said John Lasell, executive vice president at Continental. “It truly recognizes the culture we’ve built and the exceptional team that makes our success possible. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished, and so excited for the opportunities that this milestone opens up for our team and the construction community we service.”
