Cabinet sales decline in January: KCMA report

RESTON, Va. – 2026 did not start well as cabinet manufacturers reported overall sales were down 11.7% in January compared to the same month in 2025, with all three segments reporting double-digit year-over-year losses for the month, according to the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association’s January Trend of Business report. Five less manufacturers provided data than for January 2025, which could account for some of the sales decline.

The 48 responding companies, compared to 53 the year prior, reported overall sales of $155.508 million for January 2026. Custom sales were down 10.7% to $40.872 million, while semi-custom dropped 10.4% to $89.209 million  and stock sales fell 17.6%, to $25.426 million. Respondents reported a cabinet quantity for the month of 403,961, down 16.3% compared to January 2025 figures.

For the full year 2026, overall market sales are estimated to be at $20.8 billion with cabinet quantity to be at 92 million.
