Accoya Color wood T&G siding was independently tested by the International Code Council National Testing Laboratories within a specific wall assembly (see illustration) and met the wall criteria under ASTM E2707-22, which assesses fire penetration of exterior wall assemblies using the 10-minute direct flame exposure. The exterior wall assembly can be used for new buildings in WUI areas or any Fire Hazard Severity Zone within State Responsibility Areas.
“We are delighted that our colored Accoya product now joins Accoya in achieving WUI certification,” said Sergio Munhoz, sales director for Accoya USA. “The compliance underscores Accoya’s commitment to performance, sustainability, and environmental responsibility, especially in fire-prone areas. This milestone highlights our ongoing focus on fire performance and developing solutions our customers can trust.”
In California, where WUI compliance is formally recognized through the Office of the State Fire Marshall, Accoya natural wall assembly has been granted a listing in the OSFM Building
Materials Listing (BML) following successful WUI fire-performance testing. Accoya USA will also pursue this listing for a similar wall from Accoya Color.
Accoya brings unprecedented reliability to wood with a 50-year above-ground and 25-year in-ground and freshwater warranty.
