Bridgewater woodshop fire extinguished; fire company details extensive response – Daily Dispatch

An extensive fire that started Saturday at T & L Woodcraft is extinguished as of Wednesday morning, with the Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Company calling the incident “beyond a doubt the biggest fire in the Bridgewater area in recent memory.”

The fire started Saturday morning at 11:35, when crews from Bridgewater, Cloverhill, Mount Solon and Rockingham County were first aware of a structure fire on Spring Creek Road, according to the Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Company.

Within minutes, there were four engines and dozens of personnel on scene to extinguish the fire, as well as three tankers.

That number grew to seven tankers, one of which had to thaw out during the incident, as well as one pumper/tanker.

In the first 24 hours of the incident, crews used over 200,000 gallons of water, which required more than 70 round trips of the tankers traveling between the filling sites and the scene.

While the initial incident closed about 30 hours after dispatch, crews continued to work on scene, extinguishing hot spots through Wednesday morning, according to BVFC.
